PNP by Province: Saskatchewan PNP

If you’re keeping up with our blog, you may’ve already read about the Provincial Nominee Program in BC and Ontario, and now it’s time to look at Saskatchewan.

Oh Saskatchewan, the flattest place in the world! We’re joking, but that IS a common stereotype about the province. Though it does have some hills, valleys, and dunes, a lot of people believe the province’s landscape is majorly flat and open.

If you’re choosing Saskatchewan as a place to visit or live in Canada, you will want to know a few things before arriving:

  • The official sport there is curling!

  • The time zone is Central Time Zone, and there are no daylight savings time changes! (AKA, the sun will set at the same time all year round)

  • There isn’t much to do…but you could check out the many provincial parks, lakes, rivers, and seasonal festivals.

  • And we saved the coolest for last… Saskatchewan is home to many PURPLE sand beaches (yes, you read that right)!

Saskatchewan PNP

PNP in Saskatchewan is similar to the other provinces in Canada in that the goal is to invite residency applications from non-Canadians who want to make Saskatchewan their home, AND nominate successful applicants to the federal government for permanent residency in Canada. This way, the province is able to gain skilled workers to increase the overall provincial revenue AND give immigrants a beautiful place to call home.

In Saskatchewan, there is a Canadian Immigration program for each type of worker:

1.     International skilled workers – For skilled workers wanting to immigrate to Canada for work purposes

2.     Entrepreneur and Farm – For those who plan to start a business or buy and operate a farm

3.     Worker with Saskatchewan work experience – Those who currently reside in Canada and may be working towards their Canada permanent residence

Before applying for the SINP (Saskatchewan Immigration Nominee Program), a person must determine their eligibility for the appropriate PNP program, and identify which documents are needed for their application.
