Looking to visit Canada this summer? It’s not too late to get your visitor visa and start planning your trip!

Canada is the home to wonderful people, stunning scenery, and great tourist attractions to keep you busy during your stay. If you’re looking to visit and have never been here, the first step is to obtain a Canadian visitor visa approval.

Tangibly, a visitor visa is an official record that should be carried with your passport to show that you meet the requirements needed to enter Canada. Examples include stating that you’re in good health, have no criminal or immigration-related convictions, have enough money for your stay, and have a valid travel document. You may be inadmissible if you are involved in criminal activity, human rights violations, or organized crime.

Who should apply for a visitor visa?

If you’re a student, a traveller, or simply looking to visit friends or family, then YOU may be eligible for the visitor visa. The visitor visa is a document that allows you to stay in Canada for up to 6 months unless otherwise specified by a border services officer. You can stay in any location in Canada, or tour around as your heart desires throughout your stay!

Do you need an eTA before travelling?

The eTA (electronic travel authorization) is an entry requirement for visa-exempt foreign nationals traveling to or through Canada by air. It allows the destination country to screen travelers before they arrive, increasing security in that country. With a valid eTA, you can travel to Canada as often as you want for short stays, and you do not need an eTA for travel within Canada. To apply, the cost is $7 CAD and applicants must have a valid passport, a credit card, and an email to get their approval.
