What is Canada Express Entry?

Express Entry Immigration is the FASTEST and most POPULAR way for newcomers to live in Canada! It is not an immigration program in itself, but rather an online system that was created to manage Canada’s immigration applications. Express Entry in Canada organizes and processes applications for people who wish to immigrate to Canada and obtain Canadian permanent residence.

How does Express Entry work to live in Canada?

The Canada Immigration Express Entry program application works in two very simple stages. In the first major stage, applicants who are eligible for Express Entry specify an expression of interest to the Canadian government in earning Canadian permanent residency. Candidates are ranked against one another based on their age, education, language proficiency, work experience, and other factors. In the second major stage, the government invites the highest-scoring candidates to immigrate to Canada.

To live in Canada really IS a dream come true, and you’re probably wondering just how much money is involved in getting you to your forever home! Proof of funds is an important part in your Canada express entry application. Our registered immigration consultant, Lucas, will need a proof of funds for your application if you are inquiring about the Federal Skilled Worker Program or the Federal Skilled Trades Program. The amount of money you will need is dependent on the size of your family who is planning to immigrate to Canada. For example, funds required for 1 person is approximately $12,960, and for a family of 4 is about $24,083. The funds shown on your proof must be readily available to you, meaning they cannot be borrowed or considered equity, and you must be able to prove to a Canada immigration officer that you can legally access the money to use here when you arrive. Your proof of funds Express Entry can be provided as official letters from any bank or financial institutions where you’re currently keeping money.

How to apply for Express Entry with Canada immigration?

Step 1: An applicant must find out if they are eligible for express entry and specify which program they’re interested in.

Step 2: Gather your immigration documents. These may consist of passport confirmation, language test results, provincial nomination, medical exams, proof of funds, or proof of relationship to someone in Canada.

Step 3: Create your profile and application for immigrating to Canada.

Step 4: Receive an invitation and apply for Canadian permanent residence.

Once invited to Canada, what are the next steps?

Congratulations! If you’ve received an invitation to live in Canada from the Express Entry program, you’ve already done a lot of the work to get here. First thing’s first, respond to your invitation! Next, you will need to show proof of the information in your express entry profile which will be assessed for validation. You will be given 60 days to submit a complete electronic application for Canada permanent residence (during the COVID-19 pandemic, you have 90 days to complete the application). After submitting your application, we play the waiting game… and if your application is approved, you will receive permission to activate your permanent resident status in Canada.
