International travel during this unprecedented time can be tough with COVID-19 restrictions constantly changing, so we’re providing you the latest government official information about your arrival to the beautiful land of Canada.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has put firm quarantine requirements in place due to a significant increase in cases since Fall 2020. These restrictions apply not only to immigrants but also to international students and Canadian citizens.

If you are visiting for Canadian immigration or other purposes, you must:

  • quarantine for 14 days if you do not have symptoms

  • isolate for 14 days if you have symptoms of COVID-19 or if you know you have COVID-19

  • comply with mandatory quarantine or isolation requirements – failure to comply will result in fines, penalties or imprisonment

Preparation for your trip

People planning to travel to, or live in Canada are now required to download the ArriveCan app or sign in to ArriveCan online to answer a questionnaire about your quarantine plan and current health prior to boarding.

Boarding your flight

Canadian Immigration passengers must be able to provide attendants and border security with proof of their negative COVID-19 test, as well as their ArriveCan receipt. To have this process go as smoothly as possible, make sure that you are in good health before planning your trip.

Upon Arrival in Canada

The Canadian Government has recently announced that ALL international travelers are required to complete a COVID-19 test upon arrival and isolate at a designated hotel for 3 nights, or until results are confirmed. If the passenger receives a negative test result, they are allowed to continue to their final destination to visit or live in Canada. Regardless of the test result, 14-day quarantine is still required, and you MUST present a quarantine plan that shows how you’ll quarantine for 14 days when you arrive in Canada.
